As an administrator you find everything about the organization in the sidebar under Administration – developers only see their own projects and workspaces.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Manage organization, projects, workspaces, members, credentials, and billing |
| Developer | Work on assigned projects and workspaces |
Inviting and managing members
- Open Users and click Invite user.
- Enter the email address and choose the role (Developer or Administrator).
- The invited person receives an email and appears in the list with status “invited” until they accept.
In the members table you can change roles at any time, remove members from the organization, or revoke pending invitations.
Note
Invited users already count towards your subscription’s user limit – see Billing.
Credentials
Shared credentials live at organization level and are used by projects:
- Servers – SSH and cloud servers, see Server setup.
- Email delivery – SMTP credentials, see Email delivery.
- Store accounts – App Store and Play Store, see Publishing apps.
Organization settings
Under Organization settings you change name and description. The organization ID (slug) is fixed because GitLab groups and URLs are built on it.
Warning
In the danger zone you can delete the organization – this is irreversible and removes access to all associated projects.
